She screams, but a bright flash of light and a loud boom quickly silences her. He sees nothing, but he hears a high-pitched ringing, smells blood and smoke. His right arm is numb. When his vision returns, a wall of fire threatens to swallow him. He squeezes his eyes shut, hoping it’s just a bad dream. He can sense the flames coming closer, but only wonders why it’s so cold. Slowly, the darkness tunnels until it becomes fluorescent light.
