Green Book, A Review
"Green Book" is an inspiring film about the dignity inherent in every human being.
we Americans love road trips and participate in them first as children held captive in the back seat of our parents' car, then again as adventurous young adults off to college or Hollywood or Niagara Falls, or Miami Beach, and finally as parents escorting our own children to see the distant ocean, the magnificently carved mountain in South Dakota, Old Faithful in Montana, or the historical Washington D.C. monuments.
sooner or later we all will forgive our parents for those endless hours of driving, and forgive ourselves for inflicting it upon those we love most.
"Green Book" is an unusual road trip story in that two men of opposites are placed in close proximity to each other for two months where they might freely offend, educate, protect and learn from each other. Offend they do. Educate they do. Protect they do. Learn they do. Forgive they do.
it's a marvelous good movie that i recommend for anyone who longs to go on one more road trip. there is much wisdom in it.
i'm quite certain it's my favorite movie so far in 2018.
