Why do you think this will be a Reamde sequel?
Stephenson's worst by far. This is hard for me as i loved several of his earlier works, but this story, and to a lesser extent, DODO, are neither good storytelling nor good writing.
i did enjoy the mental process Dodge used to construct a vision of the world from his vague memories from teh void. and the first part about the kids going into the badlands was really really fun. the dungeons and dragons style adventure was kind of boring because there was nothing at stake in the short term, people can be resurrected and they really don't die..

After 50 pages i thought it had great potential, but i went down from there.

You had me at "Paradise Lost by way of Phillip K. Dick"
