Maybe not, maybe

On November 28th the President opined on climate change: 'I don't see it.' A more assertive pronouncement compared to his now infamous "Maybe he did, maybe he didn't" (in reference to Mohammed bin Salman's alleged involvement in the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi). Sadly, predictably, even vetted, high caliber government scientists failed to convince the Commander-in-Chief. But how about another maybe, as French philosopher Blaise Pascal, in his famous wager, posited about the existence of God. If I may paraphrase: better to believe in God, because if you do, you're in the clear, if you don't hell might literally ensue. Replace the almighty with climate change, and voila.
Rather pointedly former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger argued that, climate change or not, pollution is dirty and should be eliminated. You cannot lose by being clean(er).
Maybe. Maybe it is time the US return to its virtuous, informed leadership, and acknowledge, along with the rest of the world, the increasingly irrefutable evidence that our planet is warming.
And act.
