the winters of my life

the winter of childhood
i understood
as a slightly steep slope
i climbed upon
with the innocence
with which i used to climb up the slide
where i used to swing down
laughing on a sled
the winter of my life
i understand
as a slope
too steep
which has snowdrifts at its end
in which i sink
deeper and deeper
with the innocent smile
of a child
to be born
in his first spring
