Werner I read this story a couple of years ago as part of Doyle's collection The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (my review of the entire collection is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ). In the review, I compare the story with its "loose adaptation" in the two-part PBS Mystery! series episode The Last Vampyre, starring Jeremy Brett as Holmes (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104688/ ). It's apparently available as a movie on DVD, and fans of this blog (like myself!) might be interested in it as well. (Although I liked the story, I liked the PBS production better!)

Paula Cappa Oh wow, I didn't know about the PBS production. I'll have to watch it for sure. Thanks, Werner!

Werner You're welcome, Paula! If you watch it sometime, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
