OMG... love them all, and 3 are ones on my playlist I listen to, All the Time. Heard one last night that made me cry, "Angela" by the Lumineers, It's the song! I chose it for a character I know and love, "Angel." Coldplay, wow, I was listening to 'The Scientist 'this morning while writing! If you get time, listen to "Angela." Super sad but great song- about moving on and finding what's missing in your life. Pretty sure you'll like it. Can't wait to get the New Torpedo Ink <
Got to throw these in---songs I picture Maestro and the band playing... Seriously! Muse "Pressure" - Twenty one Pilots, "Heathens" and "My Blood" - Rise Against "The Violence"- Foster the People, "Sit Next to Me" and my favorite,..For Savage and Reaper, The Revivalists, "All My Friends" Love it.
My song for Czar--since "Bound Together" has been Linkin Park "What I've Done" . To me, it's just perfect for him but could do for any of the guys. ~ "I start again and whatever pain may come Today this ends, I'm forgiving what I've done." such great lyrics!
Holy wow! For some reason I didn't picture you listening to Five Finger Death Punch. The country song yes and maybe some softer rock but not FFDP. I absolutely love FFDP. That just makes me appreciate you even more. In Judgement Road the way you described Ink it made me think of Chris Kael, the bass player of FFDP.
When I think of the girls, Lana or Alena--one piece of music comes to mind, I thought of them as soon as I heard it...it's hypnotic and lovely. At the same time makes you want to run into the dark...away from something. "Night" by an Italian composer, Ludovico Einaudi. I don't know how to do links, sorry. I get so excited about Music and Books and well, I love to share those things with anyone! Sorry I am all over this, and leaving so many comments.
This song is for Breezy, it seems perfect in my mind. Of Monsters and Men, is the band and the song is "Wolves without teeth"
Absinthe, his song is "Spirits" by the Stumbellas. The one Torpedo Ink member I think of when I hear "Thousand Eyes" by Of Monsters and Men, is Luca Litvin (Code) Damn, I just love this cause I already had all these in my head...thanks for letting me share.
Some of this music I have not heard of but I love hearing new music so Thank you I will be listening to it as soon as possible.
You know when you're reading a book and writing reviews almost every song you hear brings the story to mind.. seems to fit...like today driving my daughter to school i heard 'Just Give Me A Reason' by Pink, 'Im a Believer' by Smashing Pumpkins, and 'Behind Blue Eyes' by The Who and i thought of Torpedo Ink. Love the Greatest Showman soundtrack. Also Dear Evan Hansen. Especially No Requiem Tonight, You Will Be Found, Words Fail, and Only Us. And Hamilton's Raise a Glass to Freedom.
Listened to Seether again, Love that song, "Nobody praying for me" I have to tell you My Savage song, it's always been, "Whatever it Takes." by Imagine Dragons. Anyone agree? "I'm just a product of the system of catastrophe, A masterpiece-yet when I'm deceased, at least I go down to the grave and die happily" the whole song is great... and I think- So Savage!
This song reminds me of the dynamic within the couples in so many of your books :) I initially thought of my other half when I heard this song but it's so relatable to your writing! The Drake series and SOTH probably have the closest parallels to this song but the Torpedo Ink absolutely connects too. I actually had no idea this was originally Bowie until I googled for the lyrics. Here's my favorite version: https://soundcloud.com/comawolf/absol...?"I've nothing much to offer
There's nothing much to take
I'm an absolute beginner
But I'm absolutely sane
As long as we're together
The rest can go to hell
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
With eyes completely open
But nervous all the same
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Could laugh at the ocean
Just like the films
There's no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true
Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can't shake
Oh, we're absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you're still smiling
There's nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we're absolute beginners
But if my love is your love
We're certain to succeed
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Sail over heartaches
Just like the films
If there's reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It's absolutely true"

Bob Moses "Back Down" "Caught in the tide of our own divide, Our moment to make a stand, We're all in the fight for our future bright, It's burning inside our hands, Fell on a line on our own this time and failed the forgotten man, Your reality is our insanity,
Our humanity is tearing at the seams. Aaaah-ah, never going back, never going back now...never gonna back, never gonna back down. Your reality is our insanity, our humanity is calling to be free." Some of the Lyrics anyway... yeah, so them. All the demons they hide can be overcome hopefully and in future books maybe for each will be a HEA? Can't wait to find out...tic toc my "Vengeance Road" should be here any day!
Great stuff Christine. The metal is so awesome. I love metal. Usually listen to 80's but FFDP is great, as are all the 90's and 2000's metal. There is NO problem with those choices either. WOW!
Me again< This song I've loved and I really thought long and hard about who it most reminded me of... I have to say "Reaper." This is definitely his-- another FFDP song, "When Seasons Change" His character, his soul is totally dedicated to Czar and well, everyone he cares about...He thinks everyone else has the light but him... "There's a light in you, that tears me down to nothing, there's an angel in your eyes, There's a hope inside that you can make it better, you see right through my disguise.
"When it rains it pours
And everybody stumbles
I won't let them bring you down,
I won't let you down when the seasons change
I won't go down,
I'll fight through the pain, I'll be there right by your side, I'll never let them bring you down. When the seasons change.
There's a hope in me, that I'll die for something, Was the fire in my eyes, all this pain inside, Will it be this way forever...I can run but I can't hide
When it rains it pours, and everybody stumbles, I won't let them bring me down. I won't let you down."
I love Wrong Side of Heaven! Perfect! I agree Carol Whatever It Takes suits Savage. I think a good Torpedo Ink song would be “Monster” by Imagine Dragons. Mostly the chorus fits them I think.

"Feel Good Inc" by the Gorillaz/Feat De La Soul, << Maestro and Keys...can you hear them laughing in this song?... it's not a Ha ha funny, having a good time laugh, it's a dangerous, you are so screwed laugh if you messed with anyone in our world. Love it. Makes me think of them. "you got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style, a melancholy town where we never smile"
Done with everything and now it's time to curl up and finish Vengeance Road...Feelin' a bit nostalgic, this series does that to me- Starting off with "Iris" from the Goo Goo Dolls, 1998. The song I associate with Ink the most..."Can't fight the tears that ain't coming, or the moment of truth in your lies, When everything feels like the movies, yeah, you bleed just to know your alive and I don't want the world to see me, cause I don't think they'd understand," What they see is all the ink, the artwork--what covers all the scars, every one of your MC guys do it, but I think Ink bleeds each time he tat's someone, he remembers... And The song "Drive" by Incubus from 1999, I see that as Player's song. When those are over "Your" playlist is going on! Love it. Have a happy, song-filled, book reading day!
Some more songs that fit: Far from Home -Five Finger Death Punch, Evil Angel-Breaking Benjamin, Iron-Within Temptation, Fire-Sleeping with Sirens, Broken Pieces-Apocalyptica ftg Lacey, Move-Thousand Foot Crush. That is just few but you get the idea.
Epiphany by Staind for all the MC guysNothing Else Matters - Metallica
Ride The Wind - Poison - All the guys
Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace - specifically for Savage
So Far Away - Avenge Sevenfold
Nobody Can Save Me - Linkin Park - Maestro
Just a few off the top of my head that reminds me of Torpedo Ink
No one has mentioned 'Switchfoot' yet, I dont think so anyway--One of their songs could be for any one of them or all of them, the song is "Meant to Live""Dreaming about Providence and whether mice or men have second tries, Maybe we've been livin' with our eyes half open, maybe we're bent and broken, broken...."
Was watching Deadly Class in SyFy channel, all fitting songs, its a show about kids being trained to be assassins... but tonight, To Have and To Hold by Depeche Mode caught my attention.
This song just broke my heart, it's so Torpedo Ink and all the guys...appropriate. "Clean Eyes" by SYML"You can't change me, can you save me?"
"I don't know what this is, but this is a different beast."
