Reading these words gives me the chills. Why? Because the truth in them applies to everyone–no matter who you are. Because it doesn’t matter whether you are embroiled in a murder case or just taking a trip or choosing a school or visiting family. Everything is connected. Mystery and thriller writers (all writers really) use that concept to tell their stories, because we know that life is a series of choices and threads. Dennis Lehane is a brilliant writer and does it better than most.
