A Huge Silence

[image error]Silence

From Pablo Neruda: “If we were not so single-minded about keeping our lives moving, and for once could do nothing, perhaps a huge silence might interrupt this sadness of never understanding ourselves and of threatening ourselves with death.”

How vast that bow of light over the Earth. And how vital that I remember the huge silence beyond what I can even imagine. This morning the Rumi poem about ‘ out beyond the city there is a field. I will meet you there’ showed up in my mind. Do you know the same wondering that hooks you right there?

The mind says ‘I know what he means, that field – but do I?’

It seemed to open itself when I was willing to be fully emptied, just surrendered to what is. And the sweet spot is, the critic doesn’t hang out there. It simply isn’t. There’s no ego. It’s just empty, free, goodness.

Hallelujah baby! as Hafiz says.
