Rural Noir

I've always written short stories that I didn't extend because I couldn't narrow down a genre/goal for them. I recently stumbled upon author Clayton Lindemuth, and finally discovered the genre that fits my writing.
"RURAL NOIR" Some call it country noir, rural lit, hick lit and so on. But the basic idea is to write stories about the rural or country areas and include the dark side of life. The good and bad of people, the real mysteries and the real tragedies that happen. In my research I've come across a few books that have a supernatural aspect but most often it is a family secret or tragedy that affects the main protagonist.

These books make you feel as if you are out in the back woods, small towns no matter the decade and like the people in the book are right next to you. You pick up on personality traits, find yourself looking for clues and feeling losses and triumphs right along with the characters.

If my stories can make one person feel something then I have done my job. Check out my first rural noir novel coming soon on Amazon, "Out of the Box: Underbridge County Book 1".
