How not to be afraid
Just don’t be afraid, sounds a bit too easy. To be afraid or to worry is today in the normal world the main factor influencing decisions. It is called in general responsibility. The media keeps us in a constant state of fear because of events we have absolute no influence in and many times it might not have any affect on us, except fear. Then we have our daily routine. Not to take a new job because of the possible risk involved, not to ask the girl for a date or not to dream about your favorite car because it would be to expensive. The daily worry to pay the bills and constant worries about your future bills. Everything is relative and I never thought or realized the dominance of fear in almost everybody’s life. My biggest fear in the past few years was the safety and security of my family. But not the paying the bills kind of safety, no the safety for their life and health kind of. We lived for several years in conflict countries and personal security became normal to us in the sense that if anybody had the intention to do evil against us, my wife or my children has to expect evil back. I had constantly in the back of my head the fear If anybody attacks our house, does my wife get to the automatic rifle fast enough, did she have all doors locked or did anybody get injured. The countries we lived in had very poor medical services and just high fever for a toddler became a real stress full situation when there is not real help available. But even worth a bad accident or other injury. Any phone call from my wife would raise my heart beat and my first thought was something happened. At the same time, I worked many times in gang controlled areas and exposed myself to an uncontrolled threat in a country where going to the bank had already a significant likely hood of attracting criminals and a violent incident. It was a permanent stress which brought me and my family close to our limits. To all of this we lived in Haiti for some years and had a few encounters with the black magic of Voodoo. So additional to the violence and lack of medical services we had to deal also with a spiritual threat, which we would have ignored if our toddler wouldn’t have started seeing ghosts and monsters. We were looking for tools to combat an invisible threat which was very real to our child. This journey and the conclusion drawn from our research actually helped me to cope much better with our living conditions and the constant fear and stress which was in the back of my head. First good news is that you made it all the way up to here and you managed, so you can start trusting yourself. It is all about feelings, feelings are energy and vibration thriving us into the direction we are heading. There are two main feelings, fear or love, the negative and the positive, the dark and the light or the low or high frequency vibrations. In many situations in our daily life we have a conscious choice about which direction we take and which feeling we want to guide us. I am talking about daily routine decision and not when the ‘so called’ reptilian brain is taking over because we are upset or are faced with an extreme situation. I am talking about looking at the telephone when your wife calls and expecting something happened or answering the telephone with the thought that everything is alright, she just needs to check something. The same is for the call from the chief, the response for an inquiry or a decision from a judge. I never realized how much we are programmed to expect the negative and once I started to make an effort to take a positive aspect into consideration, it changed my life. It definitely brought my stress level down when I started to consciously get rid of my negative thoughts. I was not just focused on how many things I had to do today before I could bring my daughter to here dance classes that I completely forgot why I want to bring her to her dance classes, so she can have a great time. It is said that thoughts are energy and vibration and dictate in what state of frequency we are in, the low negative or the high positive and I realized there was something about it. Beside it is said that all our anger and fear just feed the evil and make it stronger inside of us. Like an angry man who tries to get happy by adding more anger, I guess that explains why Darth Vader never laughed. It sounds too simple I know but some how we can create some of our own reality. We see the world around us and believe this is the world around us outside of us, but it is actually inside of us. Our brain interprets what our senses see, feel, hear, smell or perceive. Even if we touch something it is not our outside experience, we feel it inside. The person you touch, talk to or look at reacts to this energy and this reaction is actually our outside experience. This way we are all connected and our actions cause a reaction. Consider that many negative reactions based on your actions will not get you much positive energy. It takes an effort, but it is absolute worth it if we just try to expect more good things to happen to us and others than the bad things. And even in dangerous environments, it is possible. We were not blind to the criminals and other dangers around us and were ready for it. We still protected ourselves and were aware of a possible threat, but we also trusted our mitigation to protect us from it and stopped letting fear control us constantly. The clue is to try to identify, acknowledge and realize the positive things, at least in our normal routine, and focus on these small but great encounters which we tend to ignore. And sometimes, not let worries stop you from doing what you want, you don’t have to feel bad about making sure that you are happy and what you like. Don’t be afraid and trust yourself.
