Hey, everyone.


So, I've been thinking a lot about the future: what I want for the story, my skills as a writer, finances, etc. Long story short, I came to a difficult conclusion: I don't have what it takes to be a good writer. Unfortunately, good writers exist at the crossroads of high skill, good marketing know-how, an ability to take risks and an insane amount of luck. I have tried to get to that crossroads, or as near to it as I can, but the hard truth is that the odds are very much against not just me, but everyone who tries to make it as a writer.


And so, as I find myself unable to take the financial risks needed to be a successful writer, I will be going on an indefinite hiatus. I may still write some unrelated short stories, but no more novels from me for a long time, probably. To my handful of fans out there: thank you for your support. If I ever find myself flush with cash and time, maybe I'll make a comeback, but that seems unlikely. For now, I'll satisfy myself with the knowledge that I gave it a good try, as much as I could.
