8/3/19 - Xeno Tryst

Xeno Tryst (Xeno Tryst Duology, #1) by Troy D. Wymer

Welcome to the WymerNovels blog. Today, I will be discussing my fifth book, Xeno Tryst.

Xeno Tryst
is a novel length book with 75,067 words and is the first book in the Xeno Tryst Duology.

After brainstorming Xeno Tryst for two years, I had over 10,000 words put together for the framework of the novel. The structure was definitely plotter-style. I began writing the story in June 2018. In January 2019, I finished Xeno Tryst. I took one of my favorite metal subgenres and weaved it into the story with the symphonic metal band Maranadda. Most of the band member names were fictitious characters that I made up to joke around with when my children were young. There is a short story in the back appendices called Benjamin, which is a backstory for the character Benjamin Whitmann. This short story was submitted into the 2019 Write Michigan Short Story Contest, but did not make it to the semi-finals. So, that released me to include the short story in this book. Xeno Tryst is my first novel with a female as the protagonist. She is a badass with a kind heart. Unlike Lightyears Trilogy and Treasures From Afar, Xeno Tryst is an erotic space opera novel. It is book one of the Xeno Tryst Duology and it is intended for adult audiences only. Although there are explicit sex scenes throughout the novel, they are secondary to the overall story arc. In this novel, I have strived to create rich characters, detailed settings, and a fascinating plot on a galactic scale.

Xeno Tryst is an erotic space opera about a woman who is sexually expressive and advocates for sexual freedom, including relations between humans and Xenolfans. When she’s not busy with her job as a Galactic Emergency Medical Technician, she’s engaged with duties as vocalist for the symphonic metal band Maranadda.

Sierra is the vocalist for the symphonic metal band Maranadda. She has a no-nonsense attitude, is a sexual freedom advocate, and a swinger in the Lifestyle. There is never a dull moment with her job as a Galactic Emergency Medical Technician, where she is always on call to help during galactic disasters.

When she responds to a distress signal from a frightened and seemingly delusional space traveler in the mysterious Shardaa Sector, an eerie feeling comes over her as she discovers odd feather symbols.

An emergency leads Sierra to victims of a terrorist attack at a thermal cube factory in the Industrial Sector.

In another emergency, she finds herself torn between her responsibilities as a Galactic Emergency Medical Technician and her duties as the vocalist for Maranadda.

She is there to help in more ways than one when the resort snow planet, Aamaress, is attacked by the Xenolfan Government to disrupt the intermixed species tryst of forbidden sex.

Just when things are starting to go smooth for once and she gives her long awaited sexual freedom speech followed by a Maranadda concert on the band’s home planet, she is confronted by a strange being and a familiar eeriness...

At the end of Xeno Tryst, there are appendices that include Maranadda band information, a select list of casinos on Salinarr Nevis, and a terminology index of all terms that were created for the story and what chapter they first appear in. At the end of the book, it says “To be continued…” The second book in the Xeno Tryst Duology will be Feathers of Shardaa.

When I designed the book cover, I wanted the scene to depict Eslarr and Gathin in their romantic scene together toward the end of chapter two. Also on the cover, I have included the planet Aamaress—where the forbidden xeno tryst occurs—and its two moons.
