In honor of How I Met Your Mother coming to an end soon I thought I would find inspiration from one of my favorite episodes – The Murtaugh List (originally made famous by the forever awesome Lethal Weapon movies). So here it is, my Murtaugh List, also known as the I am too old for this sh#t list . . .

At the age of 28 (almost 29) I have come to learn that I am too old for . . .

1. Staying up past 10:30 pm.

2. Sleeping past 7 am – My body just won’t let me do it, even if I violate #1 and stay up way past my new bed time, my body still wakes up at 7 no matter what. Stupid inner body clock.

3. Shots of anything except tequila – at least (for now) there’s still tequila

4. Slouching

5. Wearing 4+ inch heels for more than 2 hours without killing myself. (Oh, wait, I was never able to do this . . . but that doesn’t stop me from relentlessly buying high heels cause oh how I love them!)

6. Going to midnight movie premiers (because of #’s 1 and 2).

7. Plum Loco – used to love this little wine, but now I need something less sweet, but just a little less sweet. Mimbres Red anyone?

8. The Sea Dragon – should actually be called the vomit inducing simulator.

9. Eating whatever I want with little to no consequences.

10. Loud nightclubs – unless I’m in Vegas, but even then it’s debatable.

11. All nighters – just hit me with a bus why don’t you.

Now, though I have several things I am too old for, I also thought about all the wonderful things I will never be too old for.

3. Boy bands

4. Young Adult novels

5. Snow cones

6. Phteven the dog – if you don’t know him, look it up!

7. The Labyrinth movie/songs – oh David Bowie

8. Daydreaming

9. Fairy Tales

10. Phineas and Ferb

11. ABC Family

12. The CW

13. Wizard of Oz

14. Halloween – BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!!!

15. Dressing up (See # 14)

16. Dancing in my car while driving

17. Laughing at the word Uranus hehehe

18. Amusement parks – excluding the vomit inducing simulator aka The Sea Dragon

19. Pool parties

20. Murder Mystery parties

21. Pixar movies

22. Hide and Go Seek

23. Play dough

24. Pillow pets

So there it is. Apparently there are a lot more things on my not too old for list than my too old for list. Hopefully that will never change. I guess I really am a kid at heart.
