Sweepstakes for great justice!
Hey there. Figured I should probably share the news with you...
Things come in threes. And my hometown of Dayton, Ohio, has had three crises, all in the past three months.
In May the KKK held a rally. It made me proud to see so many protestors rally against the Klan, and drive them out with peaceful opposition. But it still hurt, because shutting down the part of the city they were using and providing security for the event cost the city a cool 650K. Dayton is not a rich city. We'll be a while paying that back.
In June, thirteen or fourteen tornadoes touched down throughout the area and wreaked massive destruction. There were only two casualties, thank the divinities of your choice, but the economic impacts and recovery costs have been staggering.
And in August we made the news in a DIFFERENT way, as a mass shooter tried to go on a rampage. I say tried because our cops put his ass in the ground inside of a minute, but the damage was done, and too many lives were lost.
We're still here, though. Still living as best we can. #Daytonstrong is a thing. Ohioans and Daytonians in general tend to bounce back from this sort of shit. But... we're not too proud to ask for help. Especially for folks who need it.
So I'm doing a small charity thing. It is entirely optional. The Dayton Foundation, a local charity, has set up a fund for the families and others hurt by the shootings.

If you donate to the fund, regardless of the amount, you may send a screenshot of the "Thank you" page and your mailing address to andrewseiple@andrewseiple.com. At the end of September I will choose one of you randomly, and that person will get a free, signed paperback copy of any book from my portfolio. Everyone else on the list will get a signed thank you note.
Thanks for your time. Whatever your choice, be well and be safe.
