The Bone Farm

A short, introductory story by Dean Koontz Picture The Bone Farm is the beginning of a series, written by Dean Koontz, about a former FBI agent who is now a wanted fugitive. Normally I watch movies about stories like this, so to read one was different for me. The experiences, to me, are what I’m all about and The Bone Farm was a true experience. #element-7368f26b-3f88-4dca-9fd2-26c999159ac3 .waddons-blog-image.hideImage { display: none;} Picture Picture So Jane and her partner, Gary, are seated before a suspect, a person of interest, concerning a string of kidnappings and murders dubbed the Mother Hater. Diving into the killer’s works is akin to Clarice and her sheep. The story gives you past and current history, allowing you to become enthralled in what’s happened and develop a theory of what’s to happen next.

I figured out what was happening before it happened, to a degree. I used to be a Koontz fanatic, but once he moved away from the paranormal and began crime drama, he lost me. So to return with The Bone Farm, I’m wondering if I can pick him back up.  The story was short but actually pretty good. It got me curious as to how Hawk, who followed everything by the book, would up on the Wanted listing.

I received a book in the series a few months ago, but it’s a few titles in. I’m thinking I need to catch up instead of simply reading whichever books are within my grasp. I liked The Bone Farm. Maybe you will too. It’s only a couple hours long and entertaining. Cheers!
