It's a miracle! My first blog post…
I'd like to dedicate this, my very first blog post, to my mom, Marge Patrow. Shortly before she died on January 1, 2011, I promised her I would publish this book, and that I would do it this year. No easy task, as I had been gathering miracle stories in a system-less series of reporter notebooks, journals, napkin corners and envelope-scraps for more than a decade. As miracles would have it, she left me just enough money to get it done, so the last of my excuses was gone, and this book (that I hope you will read some day) went "live" on December 2, 2011.
My main goal in writing this book was to make someone's – anyone's – life a little better. I hope that's you! Whether you need a miracle in your parenting, job, money situation, relationships, pet ownership…just turn to that particular chapter and find a miracle you can relate to. And if you're hard pressed to find a miracle ANYWHERE in your life, go to "20/20 Hindsight Miracles" to see the potential silver lining to any crap you're going through right now. At the very least, I hope it can make you feel a little more hopeful.
I'm no expert, and I don't pretend to have all the answers to the world's (or anyone's) problems. But if a former, cynical news reporter like me can still see miracles in the everyday, I figure maybe that's a gift I can share with others; a gift that might make a difference.
So here we go…I look forward to hearing your miracles, your challenges, your thoughts as we go along here. I'm looking for miracles to put into book #2…so let me know if you've experienced one that you'd like to share. After all, everyone likes to hear a little good news once in a while (especially me!)
Miracles always, Kris
