I just discovered this story - and a lot of articles online about it - and found it to be an absolute delight. I'm developing an online community education course (through Lexington Community Education) for winter 2024 on twenty award-winning sci fi and fantasy stories by women, and so have been reading all such stories I can find online (there are about 40!) looking for the best.

And this is one of the very best. It's also at times laugh-aloud funny. A sheer delight. And it is also one of the few stories to win BOTH the Hugo and Nebula awards for science fiction and fantasy.
