Trying Some New Things...

I've been writing for as long as I can remember, and I've dipped into everything from comic books to skits, but one thing I've never been able to complete is scripts. I have ideas for both television shows and movies, but the task of writing actual scripts and screenplays has always been daunting to me. I think it has to do with the formatting; things have to be a certain way or else I might as well not even bother. I've read several books on screenwriting and script writing, I've read various samples of each, and I've started several without getting very far, but it wasn't until two days ago that I finally decided to stop being a baby about it and dive on in. I wrote the pilot to the sitcom idea that I had this past Thursday, and it turned out better than I anticipated. I know it's a rough draft, but I'm still very proud of it. You know how you know you have a good idea but you just don't quite know how to go about getting it out there? That's where I've been with this.
I didn't want to stop with just the pilot so last night I wrote ideas for practically a whole season and then wrote episode number two. Tonight, I'm writing episode three (can you tell I've caught the bug?) I've had a couple of people that I know will be honest with me read it and it was music to my ears when they said they could visualize what I had written as they read it, which is my aim whether I'm writing scripts or novels. So I'm certainly not getting too far ahead of myself as I know I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but I think I'm off to a good start.
In the meantime, I certainly haven't lost my love for the novels...I have three books out and looking forward to putting out another next year. I just love writing. Lovelovelove it!!
Stay tuned! (heeheehee)
