My Favorite Books of 2019
My Favorite Books of 2019
I found a lot of books that I loved this year and I again decided to do a top 11 because I wanted to. One of them technically came out in late 2018, but Goodreads listed it for Best of 2019, and I'm following their logic. My top 11 below with narrator listed if I listened to the audiobook.
11. Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino, read by the author
10. Velocity Weapon by Megan E. O'Keefe
9. The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead, read by JD Jackson
8. A Little Hatred by Joe Abercrombie, read by Steven Pacey
7. The Philosopher's War by Tom Miller, read by Gibson Frazier
6. The Other Americans by Laila Lalami, read by a full cast
5. The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie
4. My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite, read by Adepero Oduye
3. The Cost of These Dreams by Wright Thompson, read by the author
2. Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson, read by Marin Ireland
1. The Dutch House by Ann Patchett, read by Tom Hanks
Favorite books I read this year that came out pre-2019 (in no particular order): Boom Town by Sam Anderson narrated by the author, Caliban's War (Expanse Book 2) by James S.A. Corey and Abaddon's Gate (Expanse Book 3) by James S.A. Corey both read by Jefferson Mays, Rosewater by Tade Thompson, An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green read by Kristen Sieh (I KNOW I'M BIASED), Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik, and The Fated Sky by Mary Robinette Kowal narrated by the author.
