Stepping Back

I've requested my rights back from Dreamspinner Press. It was a difficult decision, but I believe the right one for me. My books should be removed from sale within the next 10-15 days.

The last two years outside of my writing life have been professionally and personally rewarding in ways I couldn't have imagined a few years ago. Having an author life has grown less and less important to me. A few months ago, I deleted my Ryan Loveless facebook account. I was rarely there anyway. I don't think anyone noticed.

When the Dreamspinner books come down, I have no plans to republish at this time. In the future, that may change. Having said that, I am very aware and appreciative of the interactions I've had with those readers and fellow authors who took the time to tell me how much Ethan, Who Loved Carter has meant to them. (Sometimes the other books too, but mainly that one.) It's meant a lot to me.

What's next? I have some ideas, but we won't talk about how long it's been since I finished something. We'll see what the future brings. I think I need this time to find my joy in writing again.

Thank you to everyone I've met over the years. I appreciate you all. If you count me as your friend, I'm honored. The feeling is mutual. I would be delighted if you opted to keep in touch.
