What Is My/Your Part In Us All Not Getting Along?
Do you ever wonder why we can’t all just get along? I spend a lot of time wondering why we can’t all just get along. No doubt some of you are already in reaction mode, simply because I question why we can’t all just get along. I wonder if some are already justifying war, even though I haven’t even mentioned it yet.
I sit here, and I look out into the world around me, I wonder how this all came to be. The hate, the war, the division (based on anything you can think of). What I really wonder about is, why did the masses allow this to happen? Because it’s not just war, hate and division. It’s all the things that come along with it. It’s a lack of respect not only for oneself, but others. It’s a refusal of responsibility. It’s a consumeristic materialism which seems to border on insanity. And I could go on, and on.
There is only one reason that human beings could be at war like this. And there is only one reason why human beings could be treating themselves and their home like this.
In both cases it’s the same reason. We have been taught how to behave, and the system has been set up to support the way we’ve been taught to behave.
If you’re still reading, there’s a good chance your thinking about the political group you support. You have completely ignored that I said we have been taught this, and the system has been set up. You aren’t thinking about solutions to share, you could be thinking about your minority, maybe what’s happening on your favorite reality television show. Unfortunately, this is one of the reasons why we are going to fail as a species yet again, our own ignorance and self-centeredness, our refusal to treat ourselves the way we ought to, our refusal to accept the effect we are having on our home and ourselves. Our unwillingness to have hard conversations about things which are happening right in front of us, seems to be leading us to a place that doesn’t look like somewhere most of us want to visit. I know it’s scary, but it would be much better to have the hard conversations.
I’m not sure if I am allowed to talk about what happened when I got divorced publicly. I’m also not allowed to talk about, or question, other specific events going on in society. When I can’t stand up and start a conversation about what is going on around me, when it affects me, I’m then also supposed to believe that what’s happening is normal? I’m supposed to believe the way I see leaders of countries behaving is normal? I’m supposed to believe that human beings going to war and killing each other is normal? People now passing away and not being mortgage free, this is not normal. The effect vaccines and pharmaceutical medications are having on human beings, when will we start talking about why we let them poison us?
I sat down and thought about it. I thought about war. I thought about the economy. I thought about needing more. I finally came to the conclusion, or should I say the realization, that you can have all the money in the world, but if there’s no food you’re still going to starve to death. I realized at that moment something about money, and how when we focus on less important things so predominantly, failure can be the only result. But you believe in a man-made system the same way I used to believe in the system, because it’s what we are taught, and it’s what’s safe. You don’t want to rock the boat with your family and friends, just like I didn’t. And at the end of the day let’s talk about the pink elephant in the room, you don’t want to talk about any of this because then it becomes real.
Seems to me now that it is self evident the system is rigged, yet most people are going to continue voting, putting their hope for change in the hands of the people who want to control us. We’ve been taught to look at others for change, but we can’t let this go on any longer. It’s time now to look at things in a different way. It’s time to gently force some changes along the way, and it’s time to do it without anybody getting hurt. Yes, we can make huge changes without anybody getting hurt, in fact we can get started by watching how and where we spend our money.
Because it’s all about money. Let’s be honest, it’s all about the money. It doesn’t matter if you tell the truth, or traffic children, or sell the country to bankers. If you show up in an expensive car and fancy clothes, not only will people listen to you, they will want to be you. Money puts you in control. Money is the benchmark, if you have money you have it made, even if you wreck our home while doing it.
But I’m scared that people won’t stop spending money on the stuff making society sick, because somewhere along the way we were taught to ridicule people questioning what’s going on, and we were taught that if it’s advertised, we need to own it so it makes us feel better. It’s a recipe for disaster unless a lot of people make some major changes in their lives, because were all connected.
And every action affects every other living thing on our home.
