For someone who loves writing as much I do, I struggle to write about myself. Or even about some of my achievements. If attention ever turns my way, I try my best to dodge away from being the center of attention.

After some promises that fell through last year because of unforeseeable circumstances, I was feeling a bit dejected. Whether I would truly be able to do this and if I should still continue with the plans or if it would just be easier to give up now.

I do however keep reminding myself that nothing comes easy and that you need to keep trying. If you do keep trying, something will happen that will make a splash. Whether that turns out to be only a small splash or if that turns into a huge wave, is of course helped by what you as a person and those around you do to make it more noticeable.

When I started writing, my dream was to be as big as the best authors out there. Of course as a young girl, I didn’t realize just how much hard work that actually was. As I got older, I learned more about how the world works and how rough it is to get a proper publisher. Or even have a publisher look at your work before rejecting it. If you were lucky they would have a look at it before deciding that it wasn’t good enough.

Which is why I turned to self-publishing and that turned into a bigger disaster than anyone could ever have imagined. But I picked myself up and took a step away from that, determined to try again. I knew however that my book would need a major overhaul as I had noticed things that bothered me since I had finished writing it.

Eventually I agreed to self-publish again with a local company (South African), it was with someone I knew and I knew that he wouldn’t just tell me stuff to make money. Or even tell me lies about how much books were selling and pocketing the money for himself.

We are now at the point of finally being able to say that PRE-ORDER’s are now open! The official eBook release date will be the 17th of February. The paperback will be available at a later date, but I will of course keep everyone up to date on that front. We are looking at having the book available on a couple of different websites. Amazon being the main one at the moment. Again, this will be updated as we get the details.

I am still in a bit of a shock about being at this point but I am happy. Because this is something that I absolutely love doing. It is one of my biggest passions and I will never stop writing. I have had days when I had believed that it would just be better to give up on it all, but I am happy that I didn’t. So here is to a new year and an awesome experience going forward!
