Embracing Creativity
How do we embrace creativity? What does it mean to express?
Creativity can look like many things. It could be designing graphics, rearranging your home furniture, making jewelry, decorating a cake, or writing a poem; you name it.

From time to time I’ve heard many people say, “I’m not creative.”
This blows my mind because I don’t think people realize how often they are using their creativity.
Creativity is more than just art; it also acts as a viable tool in math and science.
Being a chemist, a mathematician, a doctor, or an engineer are all examples of professions that use creativity in their field.
Creativity is a channeling of expression that engages or unveils emotional characteristics of the viewer or of the creator. Creative expression can also communicate more efficiency, productivity or remedy in designs, products or practices.
Whether you’re finding a new way to reorganize your kitchen cabinets, make a cup of coffee with just the right amount of cream, or brainstorming alternatives for a patient’s treatment, you are being creative.
Art, math and science are not as different as we make them out to be; we find math in nature and we find science in beauty.
When we realize that being creative is an important part of life, we can embrace how it shapes us. Imagine all the innovators who sought inspiration from nature, design, and art to create the most valuable and influential inventions.
It is more than just a soft skill; it is a significant tool essential to many fields.
Creativity allows us to use critical thinking skills to expand our mind and think outside of the box. We can do this in miraculous, life saving ways or, for our own pleasure, enjoyment and therapeutic expression.
Let your kids play a little longer. Watch how their curiosity develops their intuition and critical thinking.
As for yourself, create something. It doesn’t have to be “good”. Our judgment of another’s self expression is completely objective. If you don’t believe me, then how come we all have different taste? How come you enjoy one thing over the other?

It’s okay to have personal preference. But sometimes our preferences are shaped by our experiences and our values, not as a definite truth of one thing being more important than the other.
Creating something new is a healthy example of letting go of fear and judgment. Often times, our perfectionist ways keep us confided. We are allowed to get messy. This is healthy. The more you let go, the more you let your creative juices flow.
Happy creating.
