A Gem from First to Last
I just finished a superb book.
When God Says No – Revealing the Yes When Adversity and Loss are Present took my breath away.
I laughed and I cried along with the author, Dr. Judith Briles, as her life’s journey evolved. The birth of her children, an abusive marriage, a divorce, financial ruin and resurrection, the death of her son, every aspect of her will to persevere touched a chord in my heart.
This book is really about Yes. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and say Yes to the next opportunity that presents itself. You never know where that Yes will lead you. Have faith that there is a plan and a Yes is always lurking.
Judith never allowed herself to dwell in negativity, though she had every right to do so, given the obscene immoral people – after all, a company is made up of people and is only as good as they are – who wreaked such havoc in her life. Instead, with faith, she moved on and achieved something that few of us ever do: success and peace.
Along the way, she has helped innumerable people find their Yes. Encouraging, teaching, laughing and disciplining, she has learned life's hard lessons and helps others along their own path.
The pain of loss is always there. There is nothing we can do except to endure it, live through it and eventually realize that for every loss there is gain, eventually, if we will just say yes to the yes.
The pain does not get better, it gets further away. Far enough away that we can remember the good times, the funny times, the loving times.
What an amazing journey. Thank you for sharing, Judith.
