God chose to become human

To take on everything being human entailed.

God did not take on just the good things of being human:

Smelling fresh baked bread

Hearing birds sing

Putting feet in a flowing river

Holding a beloved’s hand

Laughing

Sleeping well

And a host of many other joys and wonders.

God also chose to take on those things that challenge us human beings:

Pain of breaking a bone

Suffering the loss of a special person

Living with a globe encompassing virus

Being a victim of

entrenched beliefs

fear

someone’s sense of entitlement

Being tortured

Being hated just because…

It would have been so easy to be human…

Up to a point

But God did not do it that way.

God was and is all in.

That’s what love does

Go all the way

No matter what.
