As my granddaughter(now 18)began her articlein a local paper recently:"It's official: we are living in Crazytown."
So swiftly did our normal routines changethat this new worldfeelsupside down.Crazytown.
We are hunkered downwearing and making maskswashing our handschecking in on others. We are cleaning closetsand drawers and files--our attempt to create orderin this disordered world.
But what treasures I have found in this cleaning and sorting:saved letters from students and teachersmost poignantmany humorousmost sincerein their love of a bookand its charactersand (as one student said)"the round comfort feel of it."
And I've unearthedsaved photos and drawings:generous giftsof spirit.
Crazytown, yes,but there are somebeautiful thingsinCrazytown.
Beaming you allsafety, healthand bountifulluverino.
