I’m OBSESSED with this book and with Alex Austin’s writing. I’ve read so many grounded sci-fi books since I specialize in genre and drama, and this is definitely one of the best I’ve ever read. He did an incredible job of world building and the central intrigue was such a page turner.

Dropping you a note to say that I read THE MACHINE IN THE GHOST yesterday, and think it’s brilliant—way more thoughtful, generally, than any speculative fiction I’ve read in at LEAST the last 6 months. It’s even a bit literary, without being stifling, and the dialogue is incredible. Most importantly, and like . . . said, it’s so refreshing to read a piece of grounded sci fi that goes beyond just the initial concept/conceit to follow through with a great plot...Godspeed to you both, this is a real winner!
