Recently I finished work on Part IV of the Authority of Stars series, a monster two-part horror about an isolated colony town on the dangerous Jurturnian frontier. It was great fun to write, and really allowed me to flex my muscles and try some new techniques. I learned a lot about horror writing this, appreciating the concepts of "less is more", "show don't tell" and the value and power of science-fiction written within a geographically small setting.

That being said it's done, and for the time being I wash my hands of it, casting it into a digital drawer where I can forget about it for a while and then approach with a fresh pair of eyes sometime down the line.

Now is the time to FINALLY edit Part III, and I'm embarrassed to admit I never attempted this sooner. It's a refreshing change of pace to go back to editing, especially a piece that I haven't even really thought about in 4 years or more. It has been more than 8 years since I last released a novel, and though most of that time has been well-spent writing it's time to show y'all something new.

Editing always takes longer than I think it will, and Part III (entitled The Dreamer's Code) is longer than both Regarding Mikhail and Lioness combined. Regardless, I hope to have it released within the year so stay tuned!
