Congrats Class of 2020 |”In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It” by Lauren Graham

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

What a year this has been, huh?!

Being a graduate this year as well (I can’t believe how fast college flew by!), I wanted to share a little something on the blog today.

I wanted to use this opportunity to remind all of my readers out there how important it is to follow your dreams! I know I am so grateful that I did!

I honestly did not think, a few short years ago, when I was graduating high school, that I would be where I am today, writing to you all, as an AUTHOR. It was something I had dreamed about for so many years growing up. I’d walk through the aisles of Barnes & Noble, looking at book after book, and thinking, “Wow, how cool would it be to see my name here one day?!” I wrote little “books” and stories when I was little and shared them with my family, hoping someday I would have more than a few pieces of computer paper stapled down the middle.

And now, here I am, graduating college and starting my graduate program… with SIX published books that seem to have resonated with all of you. I am so blessed and honored and quite honestly, blown away, by all that has happened these last few years with my books. Meeting my readers at book events, reading my kid’s books at preschools, and hearing your stories of how my stories have impacted you. If I wouldn’t have taken that leap – and published Illusion the week of my high school graduation – I would not be where I am today.

So! This is your reminder, just in case you need it today:

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS! Even if you think you’ll fall… you might be surprised how you fly! It will take hard work and dedication, but it will be so worth it in the end.

Congratulations, Class of 2020! WE DID IT!!!

If you’re looking for a motivational read or a gift for a graduate in your life, I highly recommend this book by Lauren Graham (yes, Lorelai from Gilmore Girls!). She wrote this book after giving pieces of it as a commencement speech for a graduation. I think it is just so full of great life-advice that everyone should read it.

It is a little gift-type book, with short pages, so it’s an easy read for those of us who just spent the last few years reading and can’t imagine picking up another book right now. I also must say the cover under the dust-jacket is such a pretty blue! I love it!
