Memorial Day

This is a special day to remember our troops who have fought and died for the sake of our freedoms.  These are special men and women who give of themselves and their families who have shared them with us. These people have given their lives so that we are able to be the country we are today, able to enjoy the freedoms we do, and are able to be what we want to be.
I remember when I took a trip to D.C. when I was very young, standing and crying in front of the Vietnam Wall to see the enormity of the soldiers who died for us in that war alone. I visited other memorials for fallen soldiers, was moved by the Changing of the Guard, and walked through Arlington National Cemetery.  You can’t see these things in person without feeling a birth of patriotism in your soul.
We have a military memorial cemetery here in Nashville where members of my family are buried.  It is humbling to see any of these sites. Remember our brave military on this day!
