With so much going on today, I find myself wondering how to write. How to write something that’s meaningful. How to write something that resonates. How to write something that makes a difference. How to write at all. And I came to the conclusion that I shouldn’t stop creating for a few reasons:

1) For African Americans, every day is a troubled time yet we keep on working, raising our children, providing for our families, laughing, and loving.

2) I write about black love, and black love is revolutionary.

3) Many of us are looking for escapism, and sometimes your favorite song, show, or novel can bring you some much-needed joy.

So I’ll keep writing and I hope you’ll keep finding those moments of joy. You deserve.
