Rainbow Snippets Jun 7th, 2020
Tis June at last…we are nearly halfway through this oddball year. Whew!
The new plants are doing nicely so far and the colors are a welcome change to just greenery. Now to wait out the heat and the inundation of bugs. Blegh. I dislike both intensely.
As a final note, I would like to pass along my thoughts and condolences to the victims and their families. I don’t know what the answer is but I hope we wake up and find it.
What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.
This week I’m sticking with one of my more dramatic works…Complications. First written in longhand in 1999.
Blurb:
Josh is a family man, a good doctor and a man in love… with his best friend. All is well until Greg discovers how he feels. Sadly, he doesn’t feel the same way.
Heartbroken, Josh finds love elsewhere, with Glenn, a much younger man. They have a whirlwind romance, until one flawed decision threatens to tear them apart forever.
With all the complications in his love life, will this doctor find a cure to mend his broken heart?

Greg watched his friend pack up their gear and put it in the trunk. “So this is all my fucking fault? Just because I can’t sleep with you?”
Josh shook his head. “Just leave me alone, Greg.”
Greg wasn’t going to get anywhere with him like this right now. He wanted to back off, but he couldn’t bring himself to leave certain things unsaid.
“No I won’t leave you alone, not like this. Not after this huge elephant in the room is between us. Let me just sum this up so we’re speaking the same language. You took our friendship, which has been great for over a decade and stirred it up because you finally got the balls to tell me that you’re gay! Not to mention the bonus of you being in love with me.” He shook his head and held up his hands. “Hey, help me out here. What am I supposed to do? Just give in or give up? Is it that cut n’ dry?” “It’s not that simple. I want you, or I did. You hurt me too! I never should’ve taken you out for that damn drink. Never!”
Available At: Amazon and Smashwords
This is running in viscous circles to be sure. Their friendship has been altered at least; and put in jeopardy. All because of the admission of love.
