It is beautifully written and made me think of these moments you describe! They are special. It brought back memories of my paternal grandmother. Around 8-9 years ago, her memory was vanishing quickly (she was around 92-93) and I would sit there with her as there was nobody to watch over her for some time during the day, and she would ask me the same questions over and over, and I answered her again and again with the same care. It made me think and understand life with such a more humble look. Hers was a life of care and love and pain and so much more, those moments represented it all and even more. There were funny moments as well when she asked me who I was and I answered: "I am one of your grandsons". She looked at me with wide-open eyes: "Did I have a son?" I answered "yes" and she used to ask more about it all :) She passed away almost 6 years ago at 95.

We all have so much to learn from older people, even if it is just cultivating patience and humility. Thank you so much for your comment here!
