Cowboys and Idiots

I am an American cowboy, and it looks like America is playing a game of “Cowboys and Idiots.”

Yesterday, I saw a video of a white elderly woman, a former school teacher named Geraldine, 92 years old, walking along in Manhattan where she has lived for fifty years. A young black man named Brimmage was walking the other direction in the clip. He casually walked by her and suddenly punched her in the left side of her face, knocking her to the sidewalk where she cut her head open on a fire hydrant, and lay there until 9-1-1 responders arrived. The “Idiot” hit this elderly woman, a “Cowboy” in her own right in her day, for no reason, other than meanness, as he passed her, and kept looking back at  her grinning. He was arrested for the 104thtime since 2005, but how many TV networks showed this violent attack? Why was this incident only shown on Fox News and not shown on any other major TV network? Where was Black Lives Matter? I remember not long ago seeing a Black Lives Matter protest with marchers holding signs and chanting “Make Some Bacon, Fry the Pigs.” Another man held a sign that said, “Kill all cops.” Why did A and E, after the recent protests, cancel the very popular TV series Live PD? My 12 year old grand-daughter who wants to be a game warden, and I would watch it together. She would comment on the professionalism or lack of in each female officer. She is a “Cowboy.” Live PD showed black and white cops, males, females, Asian and Mexican American police officers, from all over the country and almost all were like most cops, serving and protecting. So the executives at A and E, who obviously are “idiots,” cancelled the show to pander to a bunch of rabble rousers from ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, because that is what the liberal media does.

Anybody with a brain who saw the George Floyd travesty was angered and frustrated by it and wants to see justice served. There are also some police officers in America who do stop and question black males for made up reasons, which is wrong and needs to be addressed in the future. However, speaking of playing “Idiots,” the Poverty Pimps Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson had to once again come out shouting at the demonstrations and trying to keep the black community in the position the democratic party put them in and kept them in for years, as “Victims,” while always portraying themselves as the saviors of black America, while belittling and trying to censor true black Cowboys like Ms. Candace Owens, Dr. Benjamin Carson, or LTC Allen West. That is why Black Lives Matter exists, to help the democratic party continue to enslave black Americans by getting them angry and claiming they are owed something. White Americans supporting BLM are trying to prove they are not prejudiced, but just like the black community, they are being fed a bill of goods. Yes, there are some officers who are loose cannons, but by and large, most cops; male and female, black, white, red, yellow, gay, and straight, are dedicated professionals who care about our system of justice.  

According to the FBI, 95 police officers were shot and killed in the United States in 2019. Where was the outrage?  Black Americans comprise 13% of our population, but black males, 6 percent of our population, are responsible for 45% of the murders. Most of those are black on black crimes. Where is the outrage?  BLM and ANTIFA try to make it seem like white police officers are shooting African-Americans left and right, but that is simply not factual.

Former World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali when visiting with fans would sometimes stand up turn around and look at me across the room, and say, “What did you call me? Did you say Trigger?”

With a straight face, I would say, “No, I said . . . ,” then I would say the N word (the only times in my life I have ever said it).

Then Ali would stand up, call me a Honky or Cracker, and bite his lower lip in mock anger and so would I. Just as fans would start to get nervous, he and I would break out laughing, something we all need to do a lot more.

He would smile and lecture the crowd, “Folks, Don Bendell was a Green Beret and volunteered to serve in Vietnam. He is a Christian, a republican, and is white. I am a Muslim, a democrat, and fought the government when they tried to draft me, and I am black. Bendell and me have been good friends since 1973, and we respect each other. If Bendell and me can be friends, anybody can be.”

The Champ, was a true Cowboy, and always tried to make everybody smile, but he also tried to make people think. Nowadays, many people don’t think. They let TV network news anchors tell them what to think. News is not like it used to be. It is controlled and influenced by America-hating people who want socialism, not what actually works in America, representative democracy, capitalism, and free enterprise.

Working hand in glove with BLM are the idiot members of ANTIFA, who are seen by the naïve as freedom fighters. In actuality, many have spent much of their lives living in mommy and daddy’s basement playing video games. For the first time, they have set down their smart phones, or tablets, after growing up being given participation trophies and being molly-coddled by permissive parents.  Becoming part of an uncontrolled mob, ANTIFA, they are emboldened, often for the first time. Used to disrespecting authority, they become one giant bully, punching and kicking elderly Americans, black and white, destroying and burning down businesses, the dreams of men and women of all colors.

Facts on Cowboys and Idiots: The Cowboys, Republicans had anti-racism planks in its party platform ever since 1888, but the democratic party started and embraced the KKK, supported Jim Crow laws, seceded from the Union over slavery, and fought against integration tooth and nail. That is why Dr. Martin Luther King was a staunch conservative. He was truly a Cowboy, but unfortunately the Idiots are all around us.
