Last week was an emotional one. My three-member-under-the-deck gang left the nest. Every day I looked forward to going outside and sneaking a quick peek when the mom and dad were away. I would lay my phone on the deck very quietly, and take a snapshot. Four bright blue eggs. One hatched, and I saw the first featherless body. A wobbly neck. Bulging eyes. The second and third hatched, and the orange beaks (which were wide open) seemed enormous. Within days, they were plump and covered in feathers...
