I recently finished reading two books this past month, and I was reminded once again of how books can transport you to another world when you need an escape from the real world. As a kid whose parents both worked all year long, summers often dragged with not a lot to do. Walking to the library and checking out books, however, allowed me to read about other lands and the adventures of the book's main characters. When we're told today to shelter in place due to an uptick in the COVID virus, we can still travel via books to interesting and exotic destinations way beyond our front door.
