Progress Report
It is around this time in a new book's existence, that really excites me the most. You see, it is around this time (currently finishing the final few chapters of MAX Book 6), that all the little plot points start coming together. The twists, the turns, the totally unexpected, they all jump around with their hands up in the air to get noticed, screaming for me to give them the proper place so you, the reader, can lose yourself in the story just that little bit more. Because, isn't that what it really is all about? To surprise you with an ending you were never expecting to begin with?
I've always believed that the best books, to me anyway, have been those that have led me from the very beginning, to places I never saw coming, then leave me feeling like I'd been on a real train-ride adventure.
Have you experienced similar? I know for me, that was 11/22/63 by Stephen King, a book that quickly cemented its place in my own top 5. What are yours? I'd love to know.
