Editing and writing

A fact of life for many writers nowadays is that you will end up editing one book while writing another and planning a third. The demands for new additions to a successful series are high with fans writing to ask when the next will arrive. Then there is the need to keep up a constant social media output.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining as I enjoy all this but readers often don't understand what it takes to write an 80K page book, get it into a shape that is fit for publishing, marketing and promoting it.

I wish I could do this full-time but I have to work to fund life until we save enough to make the move to full time writing. So until then my evenings and weekends will be taken up with getting my writing fix and keeping my few fans happy.

But secretly, between you and me, I can't wait to 'retire'.
