Science vs. Faith

I logged on to face book this morning as usual to see what my friends and family were doing and found a link ad staring at me called.Science vs. Jesus; The God who wasn't there,http://www.thegodmovie.com/ Normally I glaze over things such as these, but I found it, and the site, somewhat troubling seeing I have a reference to this type of religious intolerance in my fiction novel, Zero Point. The key word here being FICTION. Hmmm…I guess not so much anymore. One quote in particular I found rather disingenuous was. "Fundamentalism is as strong today as it ever has been, with an alarming 44% of Americans believing that Jesus will return to earth in their lifetimes!" Yeah? So?

Why are so many in this country obsessed in trying to destroy people's Christian faith only? You'd never see them doing a movie or documentary about Islam, Buddhism, or any other religion being false now would you? The outcry would make all the news channels. The Today Show would do a whole half hour segment on intolerance in our society. This is just another sad commentary of where our society is going.

It seems to me that it is, and has been basically, open season on Christianity for a long time. Why the intolerance in America against Christians only and not others? My belief is, you don't attack something unless you feel threatened by it. The threat being; you don't want to have to look deep within yourself. Hey! If you choose to have a different, or no belief system at all, that's your personal choice to make. Go for it!

Just know that True Christians, who really understand The Word, don't go around trashing people solely on the basis of one's different beliefs, or no beliefs, so to people like these and others, who continually strive to make us a secular society; I'll pray for you, but in the mean time…Stop the intolerance; give it a rest and stop wasting your time. You're not going to change our faith no matter how hard you try. Now…how about something more relevant like Science vs.The Global Warming Cash Cow. Now that I'd pay good money to see.
