Reflections

Today a photograph of a hall mirror removed from the wall and propped up against a wall was the prompt for my poem.
Looking back to yester year
When laughter filled the air
Bright days of sunshine
Play without any care.
Distance of time exaggerated
By the depth of the clear glass
But yet all memories came
Of life here that had past.
Onward would be her journey
To the future – a new start
And hope as well as lament
Dwelt there within her hear.
Memories wouldn’t be left
Only this the physical place
She would make new ones
Assured by her God’s grace.
Home she knew was mobile
Wherever she and he were
A space that their presence
Provided peace, love and care.
