Book is published
Well after about a year and 8 months (where did that time go) after beginning the writing, the finished book was finally made public on Amazon. Always a moment in time. A time to appreciate the achievement. Celebrate that completion of a lot of work. Hard graft. Inspiration too. The last few months have mostly been graft. Tweaking, formatting, and endlessly re-reading the thing again and again. In the midst of all that was getting the cover together. I had commissioned my artist son to do this. What he did was very different than anything I would (normally) have gone for. But that’s what I wanted. To turn this thing on its head. Get a new perspective. He delivered. Controversial. Splitting the decision down the middle. Heard it all. It’s wrong. It’s great. Not cyborg enough. Oh boy, what to do. After a weekend of finger-wrenching soul-searching I decided to go with it as it was. Done. I think what he delivered is metaphoric, interesting, intriguing without being obvious. Besides, you don’t want everyone to love it. You only want to attract those who will enjoy this type of book. Not everyone will. Decision made. Then there is writing that back cover blurb . . . Oh now we are well into marketing world (don’t like this bit as much), but necessary. I think we got there in the end. What is this story really all about? The essence? Cybersoul has many intentionally meant themes going on, but how to distill this down to the core. Hopefully I got it right. It’s about the struggle between other than. Us and them. Black and white. Cyborgs and clones. The story as old as the hills and still playing out today. BLM? C’mon, nothings changed has it? I hope you enjoy this book and the layers inherent in it. I will continue to reveal the layers of how this thing was born in this blog. C’mon, I aint even mentioned the music yet! Till next time . . .
