Coming soon
So excited to announce that Woodson Falls: 9 Donovan’s Way has been sent off to the publisher. In this second book in the Gaby Quinn mystery series, Attorney Quinn is involved in the estate of a Woodson Falls luminary: author Phillip Mitchell. Mitchell’s novels are set in the French and Indian Wars of the mid-1700s, each book a fictionalized biography of one of the major people central to these conflicts.
As 9 Donovan’s Way progresses, we learn a bit more about Nellwyn Whitney, proprietor of Rainbows and Unicorns; follow the evolving relationship between Gaby and Resident State Trooper Matthew Thomas; and check the progress of Winston Pinkham’s planned subdivision, Sunrise Estates. Emma Larson at Mike’s Place provides Gaby with information critical to solving the mystery at the heart of 9 Donovan’s Way.
It’s so much fun constructing these mysteries and thinking through the third book in the series, tentatively titled Woodson Falls: 2 Sunrise Trail. I love picking up clues in the mysteries I enjoy reading (right now Louise Penny’s wonderful Chief Inspector Armand Gamache mysteries). Sprinkling clues throughout my own writing is akin to doing a jigsaw puzzle in reverse.
There’s been such wonderful feedback from readers of Woodson Falls: 16 Lakeview Terrace, most of whom are eager to continue with the series. While I don’t yet have a publication date for 9 Donovan’s Way, I’ll keep you posted on progress toward that date.
What are you writing? Are you enjoying the process of creating something new and intriguing?
