The Third Project!

Scatter-brain is among my struggles - I haven't even finished my collaborative effort - Agorath - yet, and already I've started something else! As of last weekend, I began the first of a new serial - legal procedural drama novellas set in the world of The Chocolate Prophecy! Yes, that's right, Horus Templar has been greenlit for his own little spinoff franchise. I alluded in my first blog to the idea I might try that some day. But some day has become today! Quite unexpectedly, I suddenly got an idea for a case that seemed not only worth writing about, but actually fully-formed enough to begin. Funny how ideas can go dry for months on end and then all hit you at once! And if that sudden abundance hadn't seemed providential enough on its own, I also came into an awful lot of time to write with! I've been far more productive over the last week than I ever thought I could be - averaging a chapter a day, I've already reached the 15,000 word mark! Without even meaning to, I've been participating in NaNoWriMo in a big way...

So, here's just a few important details. The series will take place a handful of years before The Chocolate Prophecy. It is very important to understand that this is not the sequel! That will come later. Rather, this book will detail a single, noteworthy case from a while back in Horus' career. That is, however, not to say that he will be the only familiar face in the mystery. He will still be enjoying the support of Art Mallard and Deborah Boulevard... as well as the rivalry of Hamilton Blackforest. New faces will naturally be joining the lineup, importantly including an expansion into the St. Argonsburg P.D. - most prominently, Deputy Constable Stenya Miloje, Captain Alexei, and ADA Blucille Cordon. Not to mention the ensemble of colorful witnesses... and, of course, Horus' client himself...

Who is this client, you ask? I won't tell you. That is part of the appeal of the case! Instead, I will just leave you to draw your own conclusions from the book's title:

Horus Templar and the Case of the Wimpy War-Criminal

Of course, I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that work on Agorath continues! So don't you go worrying about that!
