Good news: made a determined effort to buckle down on the new novel, and spent a couple of hours on it.

Bad news: novel completely jumped the tracks, went in a direction I didn't expect, and things that were supposed to happen three chapters from now started happening now.

Good news: somehow, all the threads managed to come together--even those that were left dangling in my original version--and I actually know how this sucker is going to end.
