After months of thinking about it, I've decided to take the plunge and organize a group to support writers, illustrators, and those interested in publishing in my area. The first meeting is tonight and I hope things get rolling the right way.

After I published my book, No Sweets For Santa, I was fortunate to travel the area and interact with many creative people. Personally I was amazed at all the talent and ability right here off my back doorstep and I wracked my brain on how I could help them. As time passed and more authors were networked with, I decided it was time to stop thinking and start doing, so I contacted my local library and asked for some space. One request form later, I had the space, time, and date, but now I just need people.

So here I am, creating agendas, crossing my fingers, and hoping this grows into something that helps the talented folks around me. What prompts me to post this on a book site, instead of talking about my work? My hope that this attempt will help you figure out something in your area and get moving. Over the coming months, I plan to update you with topics we cover and functions we plan.
