I've been having a lot of fun going back through the Strange Forces series in preparation for the relaunch on Kindle. I always loved Rilo Buru. He has a sharp mind, a quick wit and a good heart. As a runaway monster slave, he knew first-hand what a horrible combination greed, power and self-interest could be. He carried the knowledge of the devastation it wrought on his own people all the way to Morgan Taylor's bedroom window in an attempt to prevent the same atrocities from happening again, though he knew he would likely be captured, tortured and killed. Rilo has a great sense of humor, though a little cynical, and loved to poke fun and antagonize his detractors and tormentors. In my mind he saddles up with Spiderman, Bugs Bunny and Han Solo … scales, guts and attitude with glowing red eyes.
