Creating characters can be one of the most fun parts of writing a novel and when I recently started my latest Work in Progress I had no problem coming up with the names of my three main characters.
However at around Chapter 5 I suddenly realised that I needed 20 racing car drivers , enough to fill a Formula 1 grid. I don't think I have ever named that many people for one novel and again I decided to find some images to help with this.
I've been lucky to get my readers and other author friends help with this by posting an image each day and saying where the driver comes from in the world.
I'm currently about half way through this exercise and the name suggestions have been brilliant.
This visual background I am sure is going to help me as I progress through the story of Alexandra and her bid to become the 1st female formula 1 driver in over 40 years!!
