Writers of the Future Contest Update!
So I woke up this morning and did what every other American likely did; check to see how close to the apocalypse we are after yesterday’s election. However, for some odd reason, before I looked at the election results I decided to open up my email. When I did, I was pleasantly surprised to find an email from one of the administrators of the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future contest. I quickly opened it up and saw that my fourth quarter submission of Kidneys and Rayguns had been named an honorable mention in the contest!
If you follow my social media, you may have seen that I was more than a little depressed when Years Apart did not get selected for even an honorable mention in the previous quarter’s contest. This was a huge blow to my confidence and really made me question myself as an author. Luckily, I have a tremendous support system and was able to bounce back and continue writing, and arguably writing more than I ever had before. When I submitted Kidneys and Rayguns for the fourth quarter, I had zero expectations of finding any success with the story. To wake up this morning to find that the judges had felt it was strong enough to warrant an honorable mention was incredibly validating, leaving me feeling more confident than ever in my work.
That’s all for today; I just wanted to hop on and share the great news! If you haven’t read Kidneys and Rayguns yet, check it out on my Short Stories Page!
Also, check out the opening scene from my upcoming series, Tuatha Dé Danann! The first episode is nearly complete and I will be releasing it on here for FREE in the near future as well as on Amazon Kindle as an ebook! Keep your eyes peeled for more news and check out the Tuatha Dé Danann homepage now!
