When I was writing The Lavender Phantom, I was discovering Club Lavender room by room, similar to how you will. And it turned into something magical. As a reader, my top two genres are romantic suspense and young adult fantasy. So when I was thinking about what Lavender could be, I mixed influences from both genres. I wanted it to feel both sexy and mysterious, a place full of wonder and a place full of danger. I wanted readers to want to go there, then be a bit ashamed of it because it really isn’t a place for good, honest people.



Initial reviews tell me that I’ve achieved my goal, and I’m really thrilled about that. There’s two more books coming where Club Lavender is still central to the story so readers will get their fix no doubt.
